FUSION: The Communicators’ Conference for IABC Asia-Pacific, has announced highly regarded journalist, author and broadcaster Tracey Spicer as keynote speaker.

Renowned for the courage of her convictions, passion for social justice, and commitment to equality, she also has a wicked sense of humour.

Currently, she works as a columnist for Fairfax, presentation trainer for Outspoken Women and the Australian Film, Television and Radio School, and media trainer at Spicer Communications. She appears regularly as a commentator on ABC TV and Channel 9.

Tracey has written, produced and presented documentaries for NGOs in Bangladesh, Kenya, Uganda, Papua New Guinea, and India, and the National Breast Cancer Foundation in Australia. She is an Ambassador for ActionAid, World Vision, NSW Cancer Council, QUT’s Learning Potential Fund and SISTER2sister, and Patron of the Pancreatic Cancer Alliance.

Her essays have appeared in dozens of books including Women of Letters, She’s Having a Laugh, Father Figures, Unbreakable, and Bewitched & Bedevilled: Women Write the Gillard Years, while her TEDx Talk, The Lady Stripped Bare, has attracted more than 2.5 million views.

Tracey is the co-founder and national convenor of Women in Media, a nationwide mentoring and networking group, backed by the Media, Entertainment and Arts Alliance.

Her first book, The Good Girl Stripped Bare, became a bestseller within weeks of publication in April 2017.

Most recently, after the Harvey Weinstein sexual abuse allegations made news, Tracey announced that she was investigating powerful Australian men in the media. She became a vocal #MeToo campaigner on Twitter and encouraged people involved in the Australian entertainment industry to share their stories of sexual harassment in the workplace.
