2023 Annual General Meeting

The Annual General Meeting of the NSW Chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators will be held at 4.00pm (AEST) on Tuesday 12 December 2023. This includes election of our Board Members for 2024.

Election of Board Members

The NSW Chapter is seeking nominations to join its 2024 Board of Directors. Serving on the Board is a fantastic opportunity to join a vibrant community of communication practitioners who are passionate about advancing careers and the credibility of our profession.

The Board may consist of up to 12 serving members. We have several Director positions open for 2024 and invite NSW members to apply. The vacancies are across a range of exciting areas and we aim to place people in their roles according to their suitability, interests and capacity.

To qualify for the NSW Chapter Board, nominees must be IABC NSW financial members in good standing and meet the nomination criteria nomination criteria (PDF, 211 KB), fulfilling the responsibilities outlined in the NSW Dept of Fair Trading Model Rules for Incorporated Associations.

Serving on the Board is a fantastic opportunity to:

  • Gain Not-For-Profit Board experience

  • Work collaboratively with comms leaders across different industries

  • Broaden your local and global network

  • Contribute your expertise to advance your own and others’ careers

  • Shape the future of our profession

IABC NSW Board members are voluntary and there is no remuneration/salary paid. However, being a Board Director can be extremely rewarding. Board members have free attendance at all NSW Chapter events and other appropriate perks within the Chapter’s discretion and Board approval.

It has been a rewarding experience being an IABC NSW Board member for the past three years. I have broadened my communications network and have felt that I’ve given back to the communications community
— Chris Saxby, IABC NSW Secretary
Being an IABC NSW Board member is one of the best ways to make a positive impact on our profession. You work alongside experienced Communications leaders, discover the latest market trends, share both exciting insights and difficult challenges, but most importantly, you have the chance to inspire and nurture the next generation of professionals to build a brighter future for us all
— Anthea Cudworth, IABC NSW Vice-President & IABC NSW Treasurer

All Board Members are expected to be engaged, active contributors. Members who wish to contribute but do not have the time to commit to the Board are invited to volunteer or join a Chapter sub-committee.

If you are interested in nominating for a Board vacancy, please refer to the Nomination Rules (PDF, 211 KB) and complete the Nomination Form (DOCX, 56 KB).
