Member stories: My IABC Superpower is Grit

Meet IABC NSW member, Anne Molloy. Anne is currently an Internal Communication Specialist at Woolworths and has been working in the communications field for over 15 years. She tells us how the IABC has had a big impact on her personally and professionally. (She even told us it helped to get her current job!), and why her IABC Superpower is “grit”.

I haven’t looked back since joining the IABC NSW network two and a half years ago. Through the completion of the Communication Management Professional Certification and participation in webinars and networking events, my professional network has grown significantly.

Living in a regional area, I have found these opportunities invaluable. IABC NSW members have shared their time, knowledge and insights with me on many occasions. Having access to such an inclusive, proactive, professional network has helped me to persevere and develop strategic communication strategies that have helped inform, connect and support collaboration across the business through unprecedented times.

My IABC superpower is grit.

I have a broad marketing communications background and thanks to my IABC NSW connections they have helped me trust my judgement, go back to communication basics and focus on what Internal Communication can control and influence. As a result, I have been able to keep pushing forward, overcome setbacks and support leaders and team members by establishing new channels, new ways of working and rhythms of communication to support business operations and team member wellbeing.

IABC NSW has had such a big impact on me personally and professionally, I’m looking to work with the IABC Board to establish a chapter in Newcastle. So if you live in the Hunter Region - stay tuned for more info.

Thanks Anne – we love having you as part of the IABC Community!
